Even when someone becomes our enemy, the call and the most radical of commandments is precisely to love one's enemy and so we must respond to evil by doing good.

We cannot have racist or discriminatory ideas even if history has practiced it, so we must keep promoting forgiveness and purify our memory by removing all forms of resentment or violence left by our past. So reconciliation becomes a truth in justice, which leads to works of charity.
